Ok, who moved the bridge?
David and I return to Phipps Wash, just off of the Escalante Canyon, to try and find Maverick Bridge again. It turns out that the Calf Creek 7.5″ topographical map has it marked in the wrong location and we are trying to find the correct location.
While we search, heavy rains far to the northwest are causing the Escalante River to rise. By the time we head back to our vehicle, crossing the river has become “challenging”. I just about get washed away but can only think about my camera equipment getting wet. Oh ya… David makes it across too.
