This summer had been busy for me but I managed to get away after church on Sunday afternoon to drive the Mount Timpanogoes loop road with my brother David. (My wife had other plans.)

After driving east up Provo Canyon and then north past the Sundance Ski Resort, the road climbs significantly into the aspen forests. Here it is early spring with the trees just beginning to leaf out and the flowers just breaking out of the ground.

We dropped down into Cascade Springs and spent a while taking pictures around the wooden walkways around the springs. We were surprised how close last year’s forest fire got to the springs.

We then drove back to town via American Fork canyon. Here the streams are full of spring runoff water.

Nice.
