After discovering the wonders of southern Utah for myself, I decided to take up “Natural Arch Hunting” as a hobby. This would give me an excuse to hike all the canyons and slickrock country that I wanted to explore anyway.
Years later I discovered that there was a club called NABS (Natural Arch and Bridge Society) and their members actually did hunt for natural arches.
How bizarre….
Unfortunately, I never did find anyone to pay me for being a desert and canyon exploring photographer and my new hobby was expensive. Only the Kodak company was benefiting from my efforts. Then I switched to a digital camera and Kodak, as a company, began to tank. I’m sure it was my fault. (Sorry, Mr. Kodak.)
