I drove down to Green River Utah and then south on the Horseshoe Canyon gravel road until it crossed the San Rafael River. Then Three Canyon was on the east side of the road with Gruvers Mesa on the west side. I wanted to explore from the top of Gruvers Mesa so I could see down into the sandstone niches or recesses along the base, especially on the north side. This required that I travel further south to bypass Moonshine Wash and climb the mesa from the south side.
I was hoping to find hidden natural arches in the sandstone recesses but didn’t. However, the views from the mesa were unique.
